The house is located on a site with views across a street, through a rugby field, to the Indian Ocean and Rottnest Island beyond.

With natural ground falling undesirably away from the street, the levels of the ground floor were unorthodoxly raised to maximise views.

Access is staged by a gentle entry ramp and low stairs connecting split-levels internally. Secondary spaces encompass and are separate from the primary living areas on the ground floor. The plan is repeated on the first floor with the bedrooms encompassing a large roof terrace.

The transparency of plan allows all spaces access to ocean views, regardless of hierarchy or location.
